Our story
Pink Peacock Baked Goods is a [sadly fictional] gluten-free bakery based right here in Des Moines Iowa, specializing in treats so delicious your friends, family & slightly adversarial dinner guests won't believe they could possibly be gluten-free!
In 2022, The Pink Peacock Bakery partnered with the Iowa Food Co-Op to help expand the locally-sourced gluten-free options available to Co-Op members. In a time where soaring retail rents make having our own storefront an impossibility, it’s wonderful to have a place to build community & share feedback with folks looking for GF options. Partnering with the IFC has also given me the opportunity to network with other local producers & to source new ingredients for my bakes!
When I’m not working in my favorite shared kitchen space, I’m working on other projects & developing new skills. This year, I’m teaching myself audio editing & non-fiction writing as I solo-produce my first podcast, & I also do PR/marketing for my spouse's TTRPG book.
Our practices and ingredients
All Pink Peacock pastries are made in a dedicated gluten-free commercial kitchen space in compliance with the FDA standards for gluten-free goods.
Our products are also made with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, including vendors who will be very familiar to fellow IFC shoppers, including gluten-free flours from Breadtopia, duck eggs from Grand River Farms, apples and peaches from Iowa Orchard, and even edible flowers from Ray Family Farm!
Our products
We carry a range of products for anybody with a gluten free sweet tooth. We have treats for any time of day, from donut holes to dinner rolls.
Some of our treats are also available in dairy-free and sometimes egg-free or fully vegan options! All potential allergens will be clearly marked.
